Zaha Hadid, Sanjay Puri Lead BLT Awards 2025

The BLT Built Design Awards 2025, hosted by 3C Awards in Baar, Switzerland, have unveiled this year’s most visionary works in architecture, interiors, landscapes, and construction products. Recognising innovation from 68 countries and nearly 900 submissions, the program continues to set a global benchmark for design excellence. Full results are available at BLT Built Design Awards.

Architectural and Interior Triumphs of the Year

Thailand Government Complex Regenerative Design for a People-First Government. Landprocess.

The coveted Architectural Design of the Year title went to Zaha Hadid Architects for the King Abdullah Financial District Metro Station in Riyadh. With its fluid lattice form and energy-efficient systems, the project redefines public transit infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The station’s LEED Gold certification underscores the firm’s continuing leadership in sustainable design and futuristic urban identity.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Puri Architects received the Interior Design of the Year award for the Aatma Manthan Museum in Nathdwara, Rajasthan. Nestled within a 270-foot-high statue, the museum creates a meditative sequence through its 18,000-square-foot galleries. Its neutral palette and carefully orchestrated light invite visitors into an immersive journey through the soul, mind, and body.

Landscape Innovation and Construction Design Breakthroughs

The Meander. Fillet Edge

In the landscape category, Bangkok-based LANDPROCESS led by Kotchakorn Voraakhom earned Landscape Architecture of the Year for transforming the Thailand Government Complex into a regenerative green network. Replacing 18.5 acres of concrete with plazas and vertical gardens, the project integrates solar panels and rainwater systems that supply more than half of the complex’s energy demand.

The Construction Product Design of the Year went to VINE, a collaboration between the University of Ulsan and Studio Kwan. The innovative façade system uses curved photovoltaic panels inspired by climbing plants, combining robotic 3D printing and organic geometry to nearly double solar efficiency while maintaining a sculptural aesthetic.

Rising Voices in Architecture and Interior Design

Casa Oasis. Shinagawa Arquitetura

The Emerging Architect of the Year award recognised Unfold Form from ETH Zurich, a curved-crease formwork system by Lotte Scheder-Bieschin that drastically reduces concrete and steel usage. In the interior design category, Lisa Van Staden of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology impressed with the Symphony – Museum of South African Languages, constructed with timber and rammed earth to reflect linguistic diversity through material rhythm.

Another highlight came from Ho Sin Chang of Chung Yuan Christian University with his Harvest Circuit concept—a night-market-inspired tower integrating vertical farming, hydroponics, and public spaces, showing how the next generation links architecture with food production and sustainability.

Honouring Global Diversity and Jury Expertise

Beyond the grand prizes, the BLT Awards honoured firms such as Benthem Crouwel Architects & West 8 for Brno Main Station, TAHR Arquitectura for Ananas Spa Cotton Bay, and Paul Murdoch Architects for The New Museum of Architecture and Design. With jurors representing academia, media, and professional practice, the program ensures an inclusive vision of the built environment. Winners will gather at the gala ceremony this November in Basel to celebrate how design continues to shape a more resilient, connected world.

The BLT Built Design Awards are organised by 3C Awards, part of the Swiss-based 3C Group founded by Hossein Farmani and Astrid Hébert. The platform unites global creativity across architecture, interior design, and product innovation, highlighting both established studios and emerging talents.
