In the heart of Dublin’s historic The Liberties neighborhood, Concrete Amsterdam has created Liberties House — a new benchmark for modern co-living that blends history, artistry, and community. Designed for 371 apartments, the project offers a lively yet thoughtful living experience that mirrors the district’s independent and creative spirit. This residential interior design by Concrete Amsterdam redefines compact living into an expressive form of contemporary lifestyle.
Honoring the Character of The Liberties
The design of Liberties House draws inspiration from Dublin’s layered heritage — a place once known for its breweries, weavers, and local craftsmanship. Concrete Amsterdam translated this legacy into a visual narrative that merges raw authenticity with fresh modernism. Murals, textiles, and custom artworks become part of the interior language, establishing a visual dialogue between the old and the new. The result is an interior environment that celebrates the neighborhood’s energy while ensuring comfort and functionality for its residents.
Transforming Compact Spaces into Complete Homes
Each apartment in Liberties House demonstrates how design can elevate small spaces into livable sanctuaries. Concrete Amsterdam designed built-in cabinets that function as spatial organizers, housing all daily necessities — from wardrobe and pantry to bedroom partition and storage. This “Swiss knife” concept maximizes every centimeter, turning 17-square-meter studios into efficient, warm, and refined homes. Larger units of up to 35 sqm expand the offering for diverse lifestyles, maintaining the same spirit of smart design and privacy.
Shared Spaces and Social Connectivity
Beyond individual apartments, Liberties House places a strong emphasis on shared experiences. The common areas are conceived as open, multi-level landscapes where residents can flow from lounges to work zones, from the library to the club kitchen. Natural zoning is achieved through subtle changes in height and material, while murals by Sean Atmos and woven artworks by Rachel Tuffy infuse local artistry into every corner. Intimate seating, social zones, and flexible spaces invite residents to engage, connect, and belong.
Designing for Wellbeing and Modern Living
Created for young professionals drawn to Dublin’s thriving business and cultural life, Liberties House offers a holistic lifestyle approach. Its shared amenities include lounges, a cinema, gym, yoga studio, and event areas, all designed with wellbeing and interaction in mind. By prioritizing human experience over form, Concrete Amsterdam brings its signature philosophy — “form follows life” — to Ireland’s capital, crafting a co-living model that merges independence, creativity, and connection.
