Unique Structure #1: Aqua, USA

Aqua

I got an interesting email today that tell about the most unique structures according to Syed Mobin Architects, India. They list 9 unique structure and i will post it one by one. The first one is Aqua building in the US, from a distance this skyscraper, to be completed in 2009 in Chicago , will seem quite traditional. It’ll only be when you get close and look up that you can appreciate the ripple/jelly effect created by variously sized balconies from top to bottom.

  1. I live in Chicago and study architecture at Illinois Institute of Technology. The previous critic must have never seen the building in person. The Aqua building by Studio/Gang Arch. is distinguished from all angles and distances. The only ‘traditional’ characteristic about this building would be the use of concrete, even that of which had been put in place by technology only possible in commercial use in the past couple of years. When completed, the sun’s reflection off the glass will create a unique appearance unrivaled by passive solar design.
