Simon, a company with over a century of history, has reimagined its old factory in Poble Nou into a cutting-edge global headquarters. Named SWITCH, this project is not just a renovation but a significant milestone in sustainable and thoughtful architectural design.
Preserving the Industrial Heritage
The project, led by the renowned b720 Fermín Vázquez Arquitectos, revolves around a central idea: to preserve the essence of the original industrial building while adapting it to meet modern needs. The old factory, a concrete structure from the late 20th century, has been given a new lease on life without losing its historical charm. Instead of erasing the past, the architects chose to highlight it, carefully repairing and maintaining the building’s reinforced concrete grid.
