The international competition for the urban redevelopment of the University Hospital of Santa Chiara, Pisa, Italy has named the winner. And the winner is the David Chipperfield Architects (do not confuse with the magician, David Copperfield). According to Chipperfield news page, the competition was won in collaboration with Alberto Izzo & Partners srl.
The site of the project is part of UNESCO World Heritage which is located in the center of Pisa’s old town. The project covers the development of a consistent plan for the urban redevelopment, and the urban, landscaping and architectural enhancement of the area.
