Architects and web designers probably believe that they have very different jobs. One of them designs homes and buildings, and one of them designs software code which allows people to interact with pages on a website. To put it another way, one of them operates in the real world, and one of them operates in the virtual world. We don’t think they’re as different as they might first imagine, though. The majority of architectural design work happens on a computer, and there’s a reason that leading web designers are increasingly referred to as software architects.
