Luis de Garrido sent us another project, the Rico House, which’s sited in Petrer, Alicante, Spain. The temperatures on the site can reach 45 degrees, for this reason the architect decided to build a buried house, therefore, the temperature remains cool and stable. At the same time, it is desired that the house will be warm in the winter by itself, without any heating.
The semicircular house is integrateed into the site, and has a perfect bioclimatic performance. In this sense, the roof garden of the house is integrated to the surrounding terrain. The burden wall greatly increases the inertia of the building, and is able to store heat or cool, and maintain stable temperature inside the building.
