Description of Memorial for the Katyn Martyrs, Budapest by MINUSPLUS:
The memorial is made up of two simple groups: the built and the vegetal elements. The first is made up of the new sloped terrain and the outstanding cubes kept to the original level. The second is the set of the existing and newly planted trees. This placement creates a space between the past and present. The walkable sloped negative terrain discovers the layers of the past. The excavation of the ground, thus the hole, is the clearing away of the sediments, the unveiling of the story the gesture of discovery.

The trees planted to the negative ground in a strict grid, with the embodied corpse of the existing trees are the elements of the reinterpretation, the thinking in layers of time. Elements of life and future. The corpse of the roots of the existing trees is the body of time from today back to the past. The embodiment of the remembrance.
