This is not a fresh news but i think it is still a hot issue because related to the famous Frank Gehry architect. As reported by nytimes.com last week, Frank Gehry has been sued by M.I.T due the design and construction failures of Stata Center (pictured). The failure delivering various problem that have required high cost maintenance. But according to Frank Gehry, the construction problems were inevitable in the design of complex buildings.
“These things are complicated,” Gehry said, “and they involved a lot of people, and you never quite know where they went wrong. A building goes together with seven billion pieces of connective tissue. The chances of it getting done ever without something colliding or some misstep are small.”

can you share with me about frank gehry.. i really interested with the design of buildings~ from where? why and how did he inspired from? and how he appy with i.. thank.. ^^ grace. interior student~
Sounds like a lame excuse for some didactic architecture. The building protests too much. Its a weak architecture that has no thought to building principles. THE GREAT ONES ARE CALLED MASTER BUILDERS NOT ARCHITECTS.
MORE BUILDING AND LESS ARCHITECTING.
Throw the contractors under the bus!
Look at the building. MIT should have known better, that design could never hold up in a climate with actual weather!
It is a poor carpenter who blames his tools. And, yes, plenty of larger, more complex, buildings go together without any problems. But they are fully planned with easy to follow instructions for every contractor for every part. Blaming the contractors means his instructions were to figure it out, my sketch on a paper napkin should be enough to go by. Which is exactly what every Gehry building looks like.
MIT sued because they used the best and had plenty of assurances that everything was accounted for. Stop arguing your case in public, none of this is admissible in court. That argument would be laughed at in an actual courtroom. Even the judge would laugh, and then say very funny, but seriously we need your defense.
