I’m not sure if you are aware, but today it seems easy to forget what a modern bathroom actually looks like. Just look at online galleries of superb looking, million dollar bathrooms and you’d assume THAT is modern. However not so fast, in fact it isn’t always the case.
What you should keep in mind is the elements that make those bathroom look so appealing. I’ve done some research and came up with FIVE of my favorite, ones that won’t cost you an arm and a leg to get done. Each thing you can add is supposed to include: luxury, versatility and style. If all those things sound good to you, keep reading!

#1. You Need More Control, Add a Luxury Metal Panel.
Some of today’s most luxurious showers and bathrooms have one of these installed. Stay a night inside a 4 or 5 star hotel, and you’ll be pleased to see a modern towering marvel. In most cases, they are made of a mix of stainless steel and tempered glass, giving any surrounding area a more “premium” feel.
These may not come cheap, but they WILL add control to your shower that you most likely didn’t have before. Water flow from the top, from the sides, and in your fingertips (literally).

2. Ambient Light, In The Right Spots.
Second element with today’s showers is integrating more and more LED lights. Your shower room is a place of peace, relaxation, and most importantly, solitude. Install LED lights through your entire shower but don’t let the light get exposed too much with your eyes. Instead, have the light radiate towards other objects, giving you indirect light that makes it more soothing.
This can be done with as little as just ONE led lit shower head OR, you can go all out and run LED lights throughout your entire bathroom and install a control unit somewhere nearby.

3. Private Space, An Enclosure for YOU.
A true modern bathroom isn’t complete without a custom enclosure that can give you full privacy and 360 degree body coverage. The difference between this and standard “tub” based showers are what I just mentioned.
There are many different designs that you can pick from, while not a cost effective option, you’ll definitely benefit from this modern element the moment you step foot in it. Consider looking into a full glass kit which has 75% or less transparency, this ensures greater privacy while still looking sharp.

4. Shower Flexibility, Have a GOOD Handheld Attachment.
When you have all the current elements put together, the last thing you want is to give yourself or others, LESS flexibility when it comes to cleaning. A fixed shower head is good, but one that is handheld is even better.
It is critical you pick one that matches your bathrooms color scheme, in addition to how your shower head, shower panel and shower enclosure looks. Looking modern requires being able to match everything with each other, to make everything look like it blends in harmony.

5 Make Any Height, The RIGHT Height.
Your shower head is an important feature of your shower, it compliments everything around it. There are times when that “thing” which connects your shower head to the wall is not versatile and will lack in flexibility you desire.
Do you want a soothing rain shower? It won’t do any good if you can’t adjust the shower head to your exact height and angle. An extension arm that allows you to move your shower head in ANY direction not only looks good but also as I stated earlier, gives your bathroom a look of “being catered towards anyone”.
What To Do Now?
Obviously what I mentioned above will cost quite a bit of money and you may need a more skilled set of hands to get done. I encourage you to consider taking this onto yourself and get one thing done at a time. YouTube is the mother of all tutorials, and it is very likely that you will find a tutorials on how to do EACH thing. If that doesn’t work, just use online forms.
