Fenghuangling Bridge, is a river crossing in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, connecting Liuzhou North District and Chengzhong District, located above the Liujiang River waterway, is the first dual-use bridge in Liuzhou City, the bridge line length of 2.31 kilometers, the main bridge is 700 meters long, the bridge is a bidirectional six-lane urban arterial road, with a design speed of 60 km / h. The design speed of the bridge is 60 km / h. The bridge is designed to be used as a bridge for the city of Liuzhou.

Phoenix Ridge Bridge mainly consists of the main bridge, five towers, piers, and approach bridges on both sides; the main bridge section is arranged from west to east.

Design Concept

The architectural shape of Phoenix Ridge Bridge originates from the unique Dong ethnic wind and rain bridge shape, the bridge has five bridge pavilions, four sides of the five-story pavilions placed at the head of the bridge, progressive for the six sides of the seven-story hexagonal pavilions, the highest in the middle of the eight sides of the seven-story octagonal pavilions, and through the bridge on both sides of the two promenades through the bridge, the pavilions, the corridor of the three organically combined into a whole, which embodies the streamlined modeling of the steel structure and the soft beauty of the integration of the timber structure.

Design Features

Overall

The main bridge adopts the equal height continuous combination beam method, adopts a continuous beam body, the middle pier is set with fixed bearing, the other is movable bearing, and there is a transverse restriction structure between the beam and the top of the pier.

Main girder

  1. The main girder adopts a double-box combination girder, and the steel girder material adopts Q345qC steel except the top plate of the pier top section adopts Q420qD.
  2. The steel girder consists of the top plate, web, bottom plate, transverse partition, picket beam and small longitudinal beam, the girder section is arranged in grooves, and the longitudinal stiffening of the bottom plate adopts the mixed stiffening of U ribs and plate ribs; the web plate of the steel girder adopts the straight web, and the stiffening ribs of the web plate adopt the plate ribs.
  3. The transverse direction of steel girder is composed of truss crossbeam and solid web crossbeam, except for the pivot position and pre-stressing anchorage area adopting solid web crossbeam, the rest of the position adopts truss crossbeam; crossbeam girder is made of double-angle steel, and the node plate adopts welded connection.
  4. Concrete deck slab is an ordinary reinforced concrete system in the transverse direction and reinforced by in-vitro prestressing in the longitudinal direction; it is divided into precast slab and cast-in-situ joints; the precast slab is made of C50 concrete, with a part of the range of fiber concrete, and the cast-in-situ joints are made of C50 micro-expanded fiber concrete; the concrete deck slab is connected with the steel beams by welded nails.
  5. The extracorporeal prestressing adopts an epoxy steel strand, which is arranged for sectional tensioning and anchorage, and cross anchorage is adopted in the top section of the pier. The extracorporeal prestressing system consists of extracorporeal prestressing bundles, steering gears, and anchorage segments.
  6. The kiosk and the main girder are connected by full compression type, and anchor boxes are set on both sides of the web and bulkhead of the steel main girder, which are filled with micro-expansion self-compacting concrete.

  1. The foundation of the middle pier adopts a round-end bearing, and the water surface is made into a round-end shape, and the foundation of the side pier adopts an integral bearing.
  2. Pier modeling adopts a round-end plate pier, the centre pier column is a hollow section, the pier cap is a solid section; the side pier adopts a rectangular section solid pier.

Construction process

On 18 January 2013, the People’s Government of Liuzhou City held the opening and completion ceremony of the first 14 livelihood and development projects, and the construction of Phoenix Ridge Bridge started.

On 4 December 2017, Liuzhou Municipal Development and Reform Commission made public the relevant content of the Feasibility Study Report on the Phoenix Ridge Bridge Project in Liuzhou City.

On 19 March 2018, Phoenix Ridge Bridge carried out the main body of the first main bridge side pile drilling work; on 26 August, Liuzhou City Development and Reform Commission agreed to the issuance of the preliminary design of the Phoenix Ridge Bridge project, and to make the relevant content public.

On 20 April 2020, Phoenix Ridge Bridge completed the capping and pouring of concrete at Pier 7; on 16 June, Phoenix Ridge Bridge completed the erection of the first prefabricated girder using girder lifters and bridge erectors.

On 3 February 2021, Phoenix Ridge Bridge completed the jacking of steel box girders; on 23 November, Phoenix Ridge Bridge carried out lighting commissioning; on 15 December, Phoenix Ridge Bridge completed the dynamic and static load test; on 30 December, Phoenix Ridge Bridge was opened to traffic and an opening ceremony was held.
