A Micro City within Hangzhou’s High-Tech Zone
Located in Hangzhou’s prominent high-tech industrial zone, Uniview Headquarters is strategically positioned at the southern tip of an urban landscape axis. This prime location connects the site seamlessly with the surrounding urban fabric. The headquarters’ design incorporates a large sunken garden that links to an urban park, creating a public green core for the district. This thoughtful integration of nature into the urban environment is highlighted by a 120-meter-long elevated corridor that curves gracefully, connecting the external park, sunken courtyard, and R&D area. This corridor not only facilitates movement but also fosters an engaging dialogue between the building and its natural surroundings.
Innovative Design for Functional Efficiency
The Uniview Headquarters is a complex of three main structures: a 22-story administrative office tower, an 8-story R&D center, and a service and leisure hub at the base. The design prioritizes functional efficiency and smooth navigation. A covered corridor on the ground level acts as the building’s main artery, providing easy access for staff and visitors alike. This corridor, combined with the open and vibrant atmosphere of the interior spaces, supports a dynamic work environment for over 5,000 employees. Each floor of the R&D center spans 5,000 square meters, offering a flat and wide layout that enhances connectivity and functionality.
A Holistic, Dynamic Work Environment
At the heart of Uniview Headquarters lies its commitment to creating a holistic work environment. The basement level houses a variety of amenities including a staff cafeteria, fitness center, library, café, and retail spaces. These facilities ensure that employees have access to leisure and relaxation options, contributing to overall well-being and productivity. The architectural design includes two atriums that serve as interconnected hubs, integrating the tower, multi-story building, podium, and basement. These atriums are designed to maximize natural light through extensive glazing, creating bright and welcoming spaces. Open staircases and transparent interfaces further encourage social interactions, fostering a sense of community within the building.
Structural Elegance and Sustainability
One of the standout features of the Uniview Headquarters is the upper atrium, which boasts 28-meter-tall steel columns aligned with slim beams between modular skylight rows. This design not only enhances spatial purity and structural aesthetics but also underscores the building’s sustainable approach. The extensive use of natural light reduces the need for artificial lighting, contributing to energy efficiency. The integration of green spaces, such as the sunken garden and public green core, further emphasizes the building’s commitment to sustainability.
