Digital Orchard isn’t your typical post-production studio tucked away in a concrete jungle. Instead, it’s a visionary space nestled amidst Europe’s largest natural park, boasting unique woodland, downland, and chalk stream habitats. By re-establishing the natural ecosystem and creating an enchanting working environment, Digital Orchard aims to inspire creativity and enhance staff well-being.
Architectural Marvels
At the heart of Digital Orchard lies a design philosophy that merges architecture and landscape in a sustainable and harmonious manner. Drawing inspiration from the rich storytelling traditions of the post-production industry and ancient Celtic symbols, the architecture seamlessly blends with the surrounding landscape.
The building’s design features a flowing form that mirrors the open sweeping landscape, symbolizing infinity and the interconnectedness of all things. A cloister along the building’s edge softens the boundary between indoors and outdoors, inviting inhabitants to immerse themselves in the tranquil courtyard. Sliding timber screens and larch rainscreen skin not only provide adjustable openings for privacy and shade but also interact harmoniously with the natural surroundings.
