Iconic North Yorkshire Building Bough Back to life

A unique renovation project in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, has now been completed culminating in the creation of a range of stunning houses and apartments that are available to buy.

The Grade II-listed Old Police Station Harrogate, located in the centre of the quaint spa town, was originally dreamt up by period architect Percy Oates Platts but his legacy has now been eloquently transformed into a range of luxury houses in Harrogate thanks to sympathetic restoration work undertaken by a local development team.

The building’s history dates back to the 1930’s when the premises was first occupied by the Claro Division of the local police force and, over the decades, The Old Police Station, notable for its iconic Queen Anne Revival structure, came to represent the heartbeat of a town that is regarded as one of the best places to live in Britain.

With its striking facade, the building projected an architectural formality and gravitas befitting of its occupants but a few years ago officers moved to new dwellings just outside of town and the development team took up the reigns.

Over the last few years the team have worked tirelessly to compassionately transform this iconic building- designing and then creating a range of elegant apartments and houses, each offering secure parking within the breathtakingly- landscaped grounds.

Prices for these unique houses and apartments start from £250,000 and rise to £895,000 for those looking to purchase a slice of North Yorkshire history, as well as set up home in one of the most affluent locations in the country.

Although all the fixtures and fittings boast a contemporary feel, the development team was careful from the start to retain the structure and personality of all the original buildings. The team sought to breath new live into the original structures but also introduced modern features as well as luxury kitchens and tasteful bathrooms to reflect 21st century life.

Now finished, the apartments and houses rank as some of the most prestigious and in-demand properties in Yorkshire and, for pospective buyers, the full inventory can be found on the website.
