International Prize for Sustainable Architecture

The Ferrara Faculty of Architecture, Italy, during these years has been involved in international seminars, courses and activities concerning the sustainable architecture such as the International Award for Sustainable Architecture, now in its ninth edition.

Conceived and promoted by the School itself with the financial support of the Fassa Bortolo company, the Prize’s spirit is to contribute to the research of a system of development in the building sector, which represents one of the fields of human activity with the greatest impact on the environment, that is more sustainable than our current model, which has lead to a state of deterioration and pollution, bringing us to the verge of a global crisis of the Earth’s entire ecological system.

The 2012 jury members are going to be:

Peter Rich – Peter Rich Architects (South Africa)
LI Xiaodong – School of Architecture, Tsinghua University of Beijing (China)
Nicola Marzot – Ferrara Faculty of Architecture (Italy)
Gianluca Minguzzi – Prize’ Secretary (Italy)

The International Prize for Sustainable Architecture is looking for both recent graduate students (within the past 2 years) and professionals with a built work (completed within the past five years). Deadline for on-line registration ( is December 31st 2011 while the deadline for materials shipping is January 31st 2012.
