Ramon Esteve shared with us their project, the New La Fe Hospital, in Valencia. The project was planned to build a single building, composed by four blocks linked between them through a long basement. The programs icnlude medical care centre or Hospital itself, educational hospital centre, investigation centre and facilities centre.
The medical care building is the biggest of the four and is composed by a three storey building (including the basement), from this vast basement emerges six parallel towers that accommodate the corresponding areas for clinical services. The clinical services are layout by knowledge areas per floor; every floor has all the assistance medical services so we avoid vertical commuting for the personnel.
As a result four of these towers are occupied by the hospitalisation units plus the administration services. The other two towers are for the outpatient department, special exploration areas and special clinical services.
Detached from the basement we can find the second tower (investigation centre). Based in this tower are the Central laboratories for clinical test and the Investigation centre.
The third building is the school and management hospital which is independent of the towers but linked through the basement as the rest of the towers.
