Vitra Invite - An Evening of Innovation

Innovation and Experimentation
Art by Architects and MA Furniture Exhibition

Vitra is to host a special evening of innovation on Thursday 17 February at its prestigious London showroom, featuring unique items of furniture designed by MA Furniture: Design & Technology students from Bucks New University together with an exhibition of innovative art by architects, from the Dainow & Dainow gallery.

Vitra Invite - An Evening of Innovation

The show takes place at 30 Clerkenwell Road, London, from Tuesday 15th February to Thursday 17th February 2011, with a private View from 6pm – 9pm on Thursday.

This exciting show will offer a diverse range of furniture and products from Bucks New University’s inspirational group of new designers, who have worked alongside organisations such as Ercol, John Lewis, Abbey Distribution, and the V&A Museum of Childhood.

There will be an array of creative talent and craftsmanship on display, with the postgraduate students exhibiting the best items of their work created during the last calendar year. Through combining their skills from a variety of different backgrounds, the students take a fresh and innovative look at contemporary furniture.

The students from this year’s MA show will also display their interpretation of contemporary design through the ethos of Charles and Ray Eames.

The showroom will also feature a selling exhibition from the pioneering on-line gallery Dainow & Dainow.

This new gallery exhibits and sells work from emerging talent of the architectural world, offering a platform for young architects to present work to a wider audience.

Hand selected for their outstanding talent, 18 architects and award-winning graduates present limited edition prints of their original artwork. From beautiful hand drawings to intricate computer-generated images, these limited edition Gicliee prints showcase a visionary future of our cities as imagined by those working at the vanguard of conceptual architecture.

This collection has been presented by Dainow&Dainow, a new gallery specialising in selling original architectural drawings. The collection seeks to offer talented architects and designers a platform from which to raise their personal profile, while providing the public an opportunity to access innovative and collectable artworks.

Founded by Adam Dainow, his vision has been to provide a wider audience for architectural drawing and representation. The gallery was born of a frustration with the fact that even the highest quality architectural imagery is only experienced within the industry. Dainow and Dainow aims to broaden this audience and make these works accessible to the public, while simultaneously creating exciting opportunities for young architects.
