The project aims to reestablish the physical, social, cultural and productive link between the City and the River, by reinterpreting the urban processes that led to the peripheral conditions of the space as it is today, by applying strategies that unite both those values related to the history of the place and those determined by the natural wealth provided by the Rio de la Plata and the woods that line its shore.

New Bridge “De Oversteek” in Nijmegen, the Netherlands

Designed by NeyPoulissen Architects & Engineers, the new bridge “De Oversteek” in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, will spand as long as 285m over the Waal river to connect the western part of the city to the ring road. The bridge will use brick masonry to respect the roman heritage of Nijmegen and the piers follow the traditional building techniques of in-situ concrete.

Transbay Transit Center Project in San Francisco

The Transbay Transit Center is a $4 billion project to replace the current Transbay Terminal with a multi-modal transit center serving ten transportation systems. Located in downtown San Francisco, the new terminal will serve both bus and rail and will include a 5.4 acre rooftop park.

The New Face of Stockholm at Slussen

Designed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Berg Arkitektkontor for the City of Stockholm, the new face of Stockholm project covers an area of Stockholm adjacent to the navigation lock between the Baltic and the freshwater Lake Mälaren. Revealed at Slussen Masterplan public exhibition, the project will offer new public spaces, an accessible quayside, pedestrian and cycle routes, and a Water Square as the central feature.

Wandering Ecologies: The Revitalization of Toronto’s Lower Don Lands

Designed by Weiss/Manfredi, the Wandering Ecologies design proposal for Toronto’s Lower Don Lands, has won the American Architecture Award. The project is aimed to offer a new identity for Toronto as well as renaturalizes the Lower Don River. The Taipei Performing Arts Center consists of three theatres which are connected each other with a concourse to offers a hybrid experience. The architect described the concourse as a bridging element which acts as circulation for the theaters but also as a commercial zone which includes lively urban activities such as shopping, restaurants, bars, and other public amenities.

The Emerald Plaza is designed by Emergent Architecture. Located in UAE, this plaza is dedicated as urban space that solve the hot environment problem with passive cooling. As described by the architect, this project is a network of three elements including a garden, a sculptural, and canopies.

Pools in the Plaza underneath the Roof have a cooling effect, both evaporative and psychological. During the day, when temperatures can reach 120 degrees Fahrenheit, this involuted, grotto-like space becomes an inviting sanctuary. Indeed, in an environment where people often avoid the outdoors during daytime hours, this project offers a spatial and atmospheric solution.
