Kellogg’s in Times Square, NYC / by Chipman Design Architecture

Consisting of a unique collaboration between Kellogg’s, Journee’s Anthony Rudolf (formerly of Thomas Keller) and James Beard award-winning chef Christina Tosi, Chipman Design Architecture was challenged to design and elevate the comforting experience of enjoying your favorite cereal amidst the energy of Times Square.

BELMONT Restaurant in Paris

The BELMONT is owned by Alfred Bernardin, who also owns the popular Renoma Café Gallery. For the décor of his second restaurant, Alfred Bernardin and his team have chosen an original ‘mix and match’ theme, combining different styles and materials to achieve a unique and innovative result. Decidedly singular, this new Parisian restaurant stands out for its unconventional style, breaking all the rules with its mix of vintage with contemporary.

Hanafarm Kitchen in Saitama, Japan / by StudioGreenBlue

A large expanse of field exists a small distance from this site. The owner and his family grow vegetables there with particular consideration on taste, breed, and cultivation method. The restaurant “Hanafarm Kitchen” was created to provide true lusciousness of vegetables by cooking methods that fully utilize ingredients.

SHH’s ‘Coach House’ Restaurant Wins the ‘Best Café or Fast Food Award’

Coach House, the new 6,000 sq ft restaurant and café designed by SHH at one Britain’s most historic sites – Hatfield House – has just scooped the ‘Best Café or Fast Food Award’ at the UK’s prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2012 (‘the world’s only concept of its kind dedicated exclusively to hospitality design’). SHH was also a double-winner at the awards in 2011 for Barbican Foodhall and Barbican Lounge, with all three projects created for the same client – Levy Restaurants (part of Compass Group UK & Ireland).

The concept is well defined through the name of the restaurant, especially because the restaurant is managed by blinds and sponsored by the foundation mira. Site selection, accessibility and interior planning were the guidelines for the concept, selected to be approved by the crsss. The challenge was in the organization of two (2) types of circulation: the public and the blind waiters. The sensitive approach is perceived through the floor textures and dividing low walls.

Restaurant Azul Historico is located half block away from Madero —the new fantastic pedestrian street at the historic center— and right across the traditional Casino Español. It was inaugurated at the beginning of 2012 and is part of the new Downtown hotel and the successful family of restaurants Azul, located in different parts of Mexico City.

Jaso Restaurant / by Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos

Mexico City is very well known for its restaurant culture. The Polanco area -where most of the five and more stars hotels and fashion shops are located- have seen the blossoming of very interesting epicurean proposals. In this same area Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos were asked to develop the interior design for a new restaurant. The Chefs and owners of Jaso come from New York and they wanted to imprint their expertise and savoire flare not only through the food, but also in the interior design and atmosphere of this global restaurant.
