COMPETITION: Athletics Stadium, BRASILIA

BRASILIA

CHALLENGE:
The program for this international ideas competition challenges participants to design a new Athletics Stadium for hosting local, national and international athletics sports events in Brasilia.

The new Athletics Stadium should create an exciting and visually strong structure at the Brasilia considering the architecturally the position of the city of Brasilia.

ELIGIBILITY:

· Team (Architects, Architecture Graduates, Architecture Students )
· Inter-Disciplinary Teams (engineers, designers in-conjunction with an architect).

Submissions can be the work of an individual or a group up to 4 members (architects, architecture graduates or architecture students etc) aged 18 or over at the time of registration. Registration and participation in the competition implies an immediate acceptance by entrants of all terms & conditions governing the site and competition.

The temporary floating Pavilion should create an exciting and visually strong structure that is fit for the Biennale in Venice.

COMPETITION: Contemporary Bridge, BERLIN

BERLIN

CHALLENGE:
The program for this international ideas competition challenges participants to design a new Contemporary Bridge to carry pedestrians over the River Spree in Berlin. The new footbridge should create a new Icon or landmark in Berlin, considering that there are a number of existing examples of great bridge forms in this area of the city and its proposed position between two well-known bridges – the Schilling Bridge (Schillingbrucke) and the Oberbaum Bridge (Oberbaumbrucke).

INTRODUCTION
Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city of Brazil, the third largest metropolitan area and agglomeration in South America, boasting approximately 6.3 million people within the city proper. This makes it the 6th largest in the Americas and 26th in the world.

The 2014 FIFA World Cup which is an international association football tournament and the 20th competition is scheduled to take place in Brazil from 12th June to 13th July 2014. This will be the second time Brazil has hosted the competition with the first being in 1950, making Brazil the fifth country to have hosted the World Cup twice after Mexico, Italy, France and Germany.

International Prize for Sustainable Architecture - X competition 2013

the Ferrara University Department of Architecture, Italy, during these years has been involved in international seminars, courses and activities concerning the sustainable architecture such as the International Prize for Sustainable Architecture, now in its Tenth edition.

The Prize arose from the important international manifestation of the decennial of the foundation of the School of Architecture of Ferrara, held in 2003.

Conceived and promoted by the Ferrara School itself, with the financial support of the Fassa Bortolo company, its spirit is to promote architecture that is in greater harmony with the environment and designed for the needs of man, capable of satisfying the needs of our generations without limiting those the future, and to share with a large public the results of the research in the architecture field.

INTRODUCTION
The imprisonment of people is probably one of the bigger taboo within our modern society. A Prison is a place in which people are physically confined and usually deprived of a range of personal freedoms. Imprisonment or incarceration is a legal penalty that may be imposed by the state for the commission of a crime.

The Pacific Ocean is the largest of the Earth’s oceanic divisions. It extends from the Arctic in the north to the Southern Ocean in the south, bounded by Asia and Australia in the west, and the Americas in the east.

Domus International Award (Third Edition)

The Prize conceived and promoted by the Architecture Department at Ferrara University and Fassa Bortolo gives visibility to restoration and recovery projects of particular interest. We would like to remind you that the registration’s deadline is short-term (September 30th 2012). Participants can register project very simply by filling out the on-line form on our website.

As stated in competition notice we confirmed the deadline for submission of materials scheduled for the end of November 2012. An exhibition on all competing projects will be set up at the XX Restoration Fair in Ferrara (20-23 March 2013). For more information please visit www.premiorestauro.it.

Competition Title: New York Hotel Tower & Sky Garden Skyscraper Competition

AIM: The aim of this competition is to create an investigation into the design and construction ideas of high-rise or very tall architecture and the dynamic communities within and around them with attention to aesthetics, technology, material, flexibility, adaptability and sustainability at its core.

PROJECT: This international ideas competition challenges participants to design a NEW Hotel Tower and Sky Garden Skyscraper in New York, USA. The design should create a new iconic skyscraper in the city of skyscrapers that is New York.

ELIGIBILITY:

– Graduate Architects
– Architecture Students
– Team (Architects, Graduate Architect, Architecture Students)
– Inter-Disciplinary Teams (engineers, designers in-conjunction with an architect).
