Project description fo Moire Moire Moire (3 Mews Houses) by ODOS architects:
The site for these three mews dwellings is located on an industrial laneway in Dublin 8, previously devoid of domestic life. This industrial setting was instrumental in informing the architectural language of these dwellings. From the outside, the three dwellings appear as a mysterious, robust and impenetrable mass. The cantilevered upper section is a composition of powder coated metal industrial flooring planks arranged in a structural steel frame. These voile like planks have been laid out in varying widths to create a rythym to the street elevation and have been periodically doubled in depth creating a moire or interference pattern. At night the front elevation comes alive; its transparency is realised when each property is lit from within.

Project description of High Street Shops, Parkhurst, Johannesburg, South Africa by Kate Otten Architects:
Project: the linking and conversion of two suburban houses into shops along a busy neighbourhood high street.
Overall rationale: The transformation in recent years of a number of homes on 4th Avenue in Parkhurst into antique shops, boutiques and small cafés is an interesting urban/suburban development that can be traced back to similar gentrification processes in other global cities such as London and New York. In Johannesburg, however, many of these converted houses still maintain a residential, closed-off relationship with the high street through their existing boundary walls and set-backs from the road.

Now, we’ve evolved this concept further, using traditional Terraced Housing as a departure point, but adapting the architecture to our times.

Design concept of Ferrari Factory Store by Iosa Ghini Associati
Ferrari Factory Store of Serravalle Scrivia, entirely designed by Iosa Ghini Associates, is located outside McArthur Glen Outlet in Serravalle Scrivia. For the first time in the history of Ferrari Stores an entire building has been designed to accommodate the store. The building enjoys a privileged position as one of the first structures of the Outlet visible from the main parking area and access roads, for this reason it was designed with an exterior that immediately identifies it at ‘Ferrari space”.
