ISMO, Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d’Orsay / KAAN Architecten

Dutch firm KAAN Architecten www.kaanarchitecten.com presents the new Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d’Orsay (Université Paris-Sud/CNRS), part of the future campus of the Université Paris-Saclay (France). Robust and elegant, while essentially open in character, the building is distinguished by an harmonic coexistence of nature and scientific research.

The Institut des Sciences Moléculaires d’Orsay (ISMO) has recently moved into new premises designed by KAAN Architecten. The building is located on the Plateau de Saclay, 20 km south-west of Paris. Initiated in 2010, and born of the fusion of three research laboratories, this higher institute for molecular physics and physico-chemistry, under the supervision of Université Paris-Sud and CNRS, employees a staff of 170 collaborators. ISMO merges with the Centre de Physique Matière et Rayonnement, grouping physics laboratories, an educational building and a reception centre for international researchers.

District Administration office, Erlangen / AllesWirdGut Architects

AllesWirdGut Architects recently completed a District Administration office in the German city of Erlangen. In urban design terms, the new building has a central position within the quarter. As an upgrade to the area and for improved usability of an administration building, the ground-floor area was designed to be as public and as accessible as possible. This was achieved by AllesWirdGut by providing multiple entrances from different directions, which all come together in a shared light-bathed atrium.

The Austrian architecture studio smartvoll won the prestigious AZ Award 2018 for their project Loft Panzerhalle in Salzburg, Austria. During the annual gala held in Toronto, 64 finalists from more than 950 submissions competed for the trophy. The Loft Panzerhalle won the award in the residential interior category.

L’Accostée House, Adstock / by Bourgeois/Lechasseur architects

L’Accostée House is located in the Adstock area, on the shores of Lac St-François. The clients have lived on this beautiful site for a few years and enjoy aquatic activities on the lake. Since their original house was in poor condition and becoming too small for their growing family, they decided to rebuild while preserving the natural surroundings and keeping the open space on the edge of the lake. They wanted a warm, friendly house that would respect the environment and open onto the lake.

Arborescence, a New Mountain Condo / by ABCP Architecture

Targeting LEED certification, Arborescence is an environmentally responsible, four-season residential development located directly on Bromont Mountain

KnightsBridge, a real estate developer, today officially launched Arborescence, a unique series of condominiums located directly on Bromont Mountain’s Kamloops Trail. The eco-friendly project is aiming for LEED certification and will be built in various phases, for a total of approximately 260 units. The first phase, which is set to launch on September 19, will have 48 units and be delivered toward the end of 2019. The investment is evaluated at approximately $100 million.
