Designed by Renzo Piano, the California Academy of Sciences has been opened for public since 27 September 2008. Mr. Piano designed this building with green and sustainability in mind by adopting solar panel, recycled building materials, and natural light and ventilation. I like the shape of the green roof and how the building connect to the landscape transparently.
The project conserves two limestone walls from the previous building (1934), and houses a planetarium, a rain forest habitat and an aquarium, and several exhibition spaces to house the several Academy collections.
